Vehicle inventory
Drive / Select
About the project
I built Drive / Select as a multilingual vehicle catalog with a private Telegram tool for the dealership team. Customers search for cars on the website. Staff add vehicles, update listing details and upload photos and videos through the bot.
The work covered frontend, backend, API development and Telegram integration. The catalog supports petrol, electric and hybrid cars, with specifications suited to each type. Both the website and staff tool use the same inventory, so the team can update the listings customers see.
How it works
Filter the cars
View the details
Ask about a car
Customers narrow the catalog with search and filters, then open a vehicle page for photos, video and specifications. Electric cars can show battery and charging details, while petrol cars show engine information. Shared details such as make, model and year stay in the same place.
The bot guides staff through adding or editing a listing. It saves the current step and draft values, supports cancellation and lets unfinished sessions expire. Upload processing is tracked separately, and the change history records who updated a listing. Translated listing content also feeds the website's search.
The main challenges
The Telegram editor needed more than a sequence of questions. Staff can send photos separately, change a value or leave halfway through. I needed to keep the draft, current step and upload status together, and handle cancellation and expired sessions correctly.
Vehicle specifications were the other difficult part. Petrol, electric and hybrid cars share many fields, but their important differences need to survive from the editing form through to filters and public pages. A shared vehicle record with separate powertrain details keeps each listing relevant.
The simpler parts
The website's vehicle cards, photo galleries and specification groups were more straightforward once the inventory model was in place. Each displays a defined set of information, unlike the staff editor with its many possible steps.
Shared fields make those components reusable. Make, model and year follow one pattern across the catalog. Only the specifications that differ by vehicle type need a separate presentation.
What works well
The team can maintain the website's inventory from Telegram. Drafts, upload tracking and change history make the bot a useful editing tool, rather than just a place to send a photo and description.
The catalog also treats different types of cars properly. Electric-car listings can show battery and charging information without forcing it into engine fields, while customers still browse every vehicle through the same familiar interface.
